If you’re planning your travel
to Rome there’s a few things you really need
to know. If it's true that Rome and its beauty shines in every month
of the year, the mid-seasons are the ideal times to visit the Eternal
city, when weather is great, not too cold, not too hot, and restaurants
and bars all over the city put some tables on outside to make you
enjoy eating actually “out”.
But if you don’t like rush and traffic and you don’t
want to waste any time queuing to see the monuments and the museums
you’ve come such a long way to see, then maybe august would
be the perfect choice for you, but be ready to kind of tropical
temperature! Also, for this reasons, it would be much cheaper to
book
your hotel in Rome or to try to rent a short-term apartment:
while on the costs of Italy prices rise as the waves of the Mediterranean
see all around, summer in Rome is definitely considered as low season.
So you will easily find availability in any hotel, bed and breakfast,
guest house or apartment you want, as long as you book in a little
bit in advance.
Now let me give you a little travel clothing tip:
whether if it’s hot or it's cold, there is something that
really has to be in your suitcase: a good comfortable walking pair
of shoes: believe me, with all the sightseeing you have to do, you
are going to need it very badly! In summer resist to the temptation
of wearing flip flops…your feet are would be a mess after
a whole day spent walking around from the Colosseum
to the
Vatican and back, passing by the Spanish
Steps, Trevi's
Fountain, Campo
de' Fiori and Navona
Square. And, even if it’s extremely hot, remember not
to wear shirt skirts or short pants if you’re willing to visit
the beautiful churches spread in every corner of Rome:
rules are icy even in summer there! |
