of the old ghetto, it is open only for lunch from Monday to Friday.
It is so well known and popular with the locals that there isn't even
a sign over the door. Don't let the formica table tops put you off:
you’re here for the food - traditional Roman and Jewish fare - and
the bargain prices. Get here early to avoid a queue (especially on
Thursday if you want the fresh gnocchi). Expect to pay 20.00 euro. |

Trastevere is the best area to look for good trattorie
and pizzerie. During summer this area is lively and atmospheric
and most restaurants have outside tables. Trastevere
might be among the most expensive places to live in Rome but it
offers an excellent selection of rustic-style eating places hidden
in tiny piazzas, restaurants and pizzerie where it doesn't cost
the earth to sit at a table on the street.
