| The Isola Tiberina
(Tiber Island) is the only island in the Tevere and lies between
the Ghetto and Trastevere. From the Ghetto, you cross the Ponte
Bonifacio which was built in 62 BC and is Rome's oldest standing
bridge.
It is only 300m long and 80m wide.
The Ponte Cestio built in 46 BC, connects the island to Trastevere.
Sinagoga (Synagogue) which also houses the Museo della Comunità
Ebraica, a museum of Roman Jewish history.
The building is under constant armed guard after a bomb exploded
there in 1983, killing a small child.
